Custom Fields & Configuration

Can I create fixed custom fields with predefined values for retail staff? Yes. Use the Custom Fields settings to create predefined values for both contract-level and item-level custom fields. These fields will automatically appear on each contract, allowing staff to select from preset options instead of creating new ones manually.

How do I set up customer metafields? ReSelly supports Shopify customer metafields for displaying additional customer information (like customer ID). Setup process:

  1. Create a customer metafield in your Shopify settings

  2. Add it to your contract settings in ReSelly

  3. The metafields will then appear in the customer's profile in ReSelly

Payouts & Payments

How are payouts managed? ReSelly supports 3 payout workflows:

  • Store Credit: Gift cards are automatically emailed to customers when contracts are approved

  • Buyouts: Require manual payout (can be automated with QuickBooks integration)

  • Consignment: Payouts are triggered only when items sell

Important: There's currently no built-in method to pay consignors directly for buyouts or consignment sales. Right now you can:

  • Create a custom contract field to mark contracts as paid

  • Accept payments in person, then manually mark the contract as paid

  • Use QuickBooks integration to help automate buyout payouts (our team can assist with setup)

A dedicated payout module is targeted for release by Q3 2025.

Can I charge a "Contact Establishment Fee" for ReSelly contacts? This isn't currently a built-in feature. Workaround: Include the fee in your terms and conditions, then reduce the consignor's payout by the fee amount (e.g., $50 less).


Pricing & Discounts

What does "Okay with markdown" do? This option allows you to apply discounts to consignment products. When enabled, discounts can be applied during sales campaigns (which you can set up in the Events module). If disabled, discounts won't be applied to the product during sales.

How do discounts affect consignor payouts? Consignors receive their percentage based on the final discounted sale price. Example: A $100 item is discounted 20% to $80, with a 50% consignor share = $40 payout (50% of $80). The consignor effectively absorbs the impact of the discount.


Product Management

How can I see consignor information in Shopify product listings? Go to the product in Shopify → "More Actions" → "ReSelly Fields" to view all contract and customer information.

Can I bundle items together? Use the free Shopify Bundles app after creating your contract. This lets you combine individual products into bundles while preserving original product listings and ReSelly field information for each item.


Integrations & Data

How does QuickBooks integration work? Simple setup: Go to Settings → Intergrations → Click "Connect" and complete the connection in QuickBooks. ReSelly integrates with QuickBooks Online for direct API syncing of bills, transactions, and expenses. Contact our team if you have any questions.

Where is my data stored?

  • Product and customer information: Pulled directly from Shopify's native data

  • Contract details: Stored in the ReSelly app, with receipts available to send to customers


Contract Management

Can I modify contracts after approval? No. Once approved, contracts cannot be amended due to complex triggered workflows (product creation, store credit issuance, QuickBooks integration). Keep contracts in "draft" status until you're certain no changes are needed. Approval is the final handshake of the deal.


Consignor Experience

How do I set up the consignor portal? To make the Consignor Portal accessible:

  1. Add it as a block in your store theme

  2. Include it in your navigation menu for easy access

  3. Ensure customer draft contracts are added to your store from the ReSelly app section

The portal allows consignors to view their drafts, approvals, and contract performance.


Future Features

Is there AI camera integration for item intake and pricing? This is under investigation for our development roadmap, including auto-generated pricing by category and AI price analysis.

Is beta testing available for new features? Not at the moment. However, we are exploring the possibility of introducing a beta testing program in the future. If you’re interested in being a beta tester, feel free to reach out to us.

Do you support languages other than English? Not currently, but multilingual support is on our roadmap, as it's important to us to make ReSelly available in other languages.
