Events

Creating an event in Reselly allows you to manage sales promotions, automate product discounts, and schedule price adjustments with ease. This page explains how to create and manage events to optimize your inventory and streamline your discounting process.

1. Open ReSelly from Shopify Admin

  • Log in to your Shopify store and go to your Shopify Admin Dashboard.

  • Navigate to Apps in the left sidebar and select ReSelly from the list of installed applications.

2. Access the Events Module

  • Click on the Events module from the main dashboard or sidebar menu.

3. Create an Event Type - Manual

  • On the Events page, click the New Event button on the upper right-hand corner.

  • This will open a dialogue box where you can enter in your event details.

Tip: There are two different kinds of event types: Manual and After N Days

Manual events: Ideal for scheduled sales or promotions (e.g., Black Friday), where you know the exact timing and want full control.

After N Days events: Great for inventory-based discounts (e.g., marking down items that haven’t sold after a certain period).

  • Next select the event Type.

Example: Manual type

  • Enter the event Name.

Example: Sale Event Example

  • If you chose a Manual type, enter your event Date and Time.

Example: January 21, 2025 ; 8:30AM

  • After entering all necessary details, click Save.

3b. Create an Event Type - Manual: Add file

  • Import a CSV file to the event with the Product's Variant Shopify ID and associated Sale Price by clicking the Add file button.

Tip: Click on the sample CSV template link to see an example format required for the CSV file import.

4. Create an Event Type - After N Days

  • Select an event Type.

Example: After N Days

  • Enter the event Name.

Example: 20% off after 2 weeks

  • Populate the After N Days field and enter the number of days.

Example: After 14 days

  • Enter the Percentage % discount.

Example: 15%

  • Select from the Depends On dropdown.

  • You can choose between None, Contract, or Contract Item.

  • If you select Contract or Contract Item, you will also have to enter a Depends On Value.

  • Click Save.
